Lily’s Chocolate Bars Review

If you’ve been keto for a while and enjoy chocolate, you’ve come across Lily’s Sweets’ vast selection of keto-friendly chocolate bars, which can be found on grocery store shelves. The bars are significant, guaranteeing a lot of delight with each purchase. But, more importantly, they’re keto-friendly and delicious. Even better, there are so many different flavors and types that there is something for everyone.

Product Offerings

  • Original Dark Chocolate, Coconut Dark Chocolate, Crispy Rice Dark Chocolate, and Almond Dark Chocolate are available from the keto-friendly confectioner.
  • They also offer four “very dark chocolate” bars in their lineup: Blood Orange Dark Chocolate, Extra Dark Chocolate, Extremely Dark Chocolate, and Almond Dark Chocolate.
  • While finding decent, keto-friendly dark chocolate is pretty straightforward, milk chocolate has historically been a different story–that is until Lily’s released their line of milk chocolate bars. They come in three delicious flavors: Salted Almond Milk Chocolate, Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate, and Creamy Milk Chocolate.
  • Whatever your desire, most bars are 3-ounce bars with three portions and net carbohydrates ranging from one to five per serving.
  • Lily’s also sells a virtual dark chocolate baking bar and epic dark chocolate chips, which may be used in baking or eaten by the handful; yes, they are that amazing!

About the Company

Lily’s Sweets, LLC is a company based in Boulder, Colorado. Cynthia Tice, who launched Center Foods in Philadelphia in 1978, became recognized for her zeal for helping people eat healthier. Cynthia advocated for healthier eating long before the rest of us drank a green juice. Cynthia reached a watershed moment in 2003 when she resolved to give up sweets for good. The only problem was that she couldn’t stop eating chocolate. So, in 2010, she created her no-sugar-added chocolate and sold it to the public under the brand name Lily’s Sweets with her longtime friend Chuck Genuardi.

How They Taste

These bars are head and shoulders above most other keto-friendly bars on the market, and it’s not just because they come in milk chocolate. Lily’s chocolate has no “artificial sweetener” flavor or cooling sensations that many other sugar-free chocolates have. Even better, Lily’s milk chocolate line would outperform any actual sugar-sweetened bar.

They melt on your tongue and have a fantastic flavor from the first bite to the last. The two “salted” bars have a perceptible rush of sea salt that makes such a delectable flavor combination you’ll be basking in milk chocolate bliss and wondering if it’s too good to be true. The black chocolates have the typical bitter flavor of all dark chocolates, yet there is no unpleasant aftertaste.

Ingredients & Macros

Lily’s uses non-GMO, gluten-free ingredients sourced through Fair Trade standards, and each product is botanically sweetened, ensuring that their bars do not contain manufactured sugars. Except for the brown rice in the Krispy Rice Dark Chocolate bar, all of the components in these bars are keto-friendly.

Cocoa percentages range from 40% for milk chocolate bars to 80% for really dark chocolate.

Blood Sugar and Ketones

We carefully double-check the keto-friendliness of the items we review by measuring our ketones and blood glucose levels before and after consuming the dish. We examined the Salted Almond Milk Chocolate Bar for our evaluation. We wanted to test how it affected us because it had a more significant number of net carbs than some of the other Lily’s bars, and we knew that other bars would likely have even better outcomes.

Our results are shown in the chart below, and the Salted Almond Milk Chocolate bar passed our test with no notable adverse responses to our glucose or ketones.

The Bottom Line

Lily’s chocolate bars and goodies get two thumbs up! They’re produced with healthful keto-friendly ingredients, the tastes and textures are delicious, and they won’t interfere with ketosis if eaten within your daily macros. In other words, they are the PERFECT pick for something chocolatey and delicious.
